Intro
Hi! I'm Ryan Mercado, a full-stack web developer in Tampa, Florida. I have experience in both front-end design and back-end architecture, with ample training in the technologies powering web, mobile and desktop applications and experience in bringing dynamic full-stack applications from conception to market.
About Me
I've always held a strong passion for communication. As a freelance transcriptionist, I've learned to translate the idiosyncrasies of spoken language into clear and parsable text. As a web developer, I now strive to communicate the advanced technical concepts of my work as clearly as possible, facilitating a smooth workflow alongside like-minded professionals.
I work to provide front-end design and implementation services, as well as back-end API development and database integration. I'm experienced in a core set of the front-end (React, Redux) and back-end (Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, Sequelize) technologies used in modern web development, which I've used to build several live applications for a wide variety of target end-users.
When I'm not working, I like to indulge in hobbies that hold room for growth. I'm quite fond of the acoustic guitar, and I try to make the time to write, record, and produce original music. I like to play and read about retro video games, learning about the immense body of technical history involved in their creation. Finally, I'm a sucker for the occasional hike, but my endurance hasn't grown as much as I'd wish.
